Yummy Yummy Cookies

So for the last week or so I've been promising the boys that we would decorate Christmas cookies, so on Monday I figured I'd be good on that promise and spent a few hours that afternoon making the tree, snowmen, gingerbread men, and star shaped sugar cookies. I'm definitely NOT a baker, but everyone says they tasted pretty good so that must say something, right? Well the boys went to the movie Bolt with another of their aunts and so we decided that we'd decorate them that night with the rest of the family. I think everyone had a good time, so here's some pictures of the finished products.

Christmas Tree

So, this is a little late in posting but I've been busy with school and finals and what not. Any who, on November 30, Bryan, myself and Jace along with Rachel's bro-in law Brad and his 2 boys Brayden and Bradly went on an adventure to find the "perfect" Christmas trees. We drove the 2 hours or so down to the Umatilla National Forest area where we proceeded to drive up the mountain side searching for a tree we thought was acceptable. Our first adventure outside of the truck occurred when Brad spotted what he thought was a "perfect" tree about 150 yrds or so down a ravine thats hillside was easily an 80% grade. So us three adults decided sure, why not. So we started trudging down the hillside with 3 kids in tow, trying to keep our balance and not plummet down the hillside. We got down about 50-75 yrds or so when the realization hit that said "perfect" tree was getting bigger and bigger rather than the small tree it was first thought to be. So with sad hearts and buckling knees we turned around and started back up hillside. (If you ever want a great workout try climbing up a hillside with an 80% grade, for when I finally reached the top my legs felt like jello.) So by the time we reached the truck we had pretty much lost all daylight so as we ventured back down the mountain we found a tree near the raodside and chopped it down. What looked to be a nice full tree in the front, turned out to have no tree whatsoever in the back. So, this is why I call it our Charlie Brown halfer tree. Up against the wall(so you can't really see the back) and with all the decorations on, it doesn't look half bad. Although from now on I think we should just stay with our nice full plastic tree :).

So I've finally had time to upload the rest of out Super Sled adventure videos. Beware of the commentary...it might be quite loud. Hope you get as many laughs as we all did.

Pumpkin Patch

Brooke and I this past saturday decided to take the boys on an "adventure" to the pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun and I think Jace and Joshua had a good time. We went and saw the barn animals (which neither of them would touch), made our way through a hay maze, up a hay pyramid, on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch, and they even picked out their very own pumpkins. Of course they had to get the little ones because those were the "kid size" as Jace put it. Overall it was an awesome day. A tad windy but even so it was nice to spend time celebrating the autumn season. Here are some pictures of our experience...

Super Sled

So in the Woodard household, Bryan has developed a new "event" I guess you could say. He made everyone try it (regardless of my complaints), well except Rachel because she's pregnant of course... I thought I'd share a few videos of the experience. It was literally a pain in my shoulder!

Even us big kids went down on the "Super Sled" but because it takes so long for them to load, you'll all have to wait for them at a later date.
